Humans
The most common of races, humans are most prone to the search for something "different" and thus often try multiple careers, but this desire for different also manifests as a penchant for becoming different.
Elves
The most civilized of the fae, elves are slightly taller than humans, but roughly the same structure. Unable to touch iron for long periods of time, areas with enough elves to warrant it often grow Ironwood trees to outfit heavy armor for their elven soldiers. Elves age logarithmically, from 0-10 they grow at roughly human rate, then from 10-20, they age at roughly half speed (so a 20 year old elf is developmentally on par with a 15 year old human). Then 1/3rd through their twenties, and so on. This means that elves often live into their 300s but only adventure for the first 50 years or so before becoming "too old for that shit"
Dwarves
A short stocky race, Dwarves are blessed with strong bodies, but at the cost of being too dense to be good swimmers.
Orcs
The Orcs are the tallest of the races, often standing a head above their human compatriots. Bred as warriors for thousands of years, orcs still struggle against base instinct when blood starts flowing, but are otherwise well adjusted to the human world, and face little prejudice, as they overthrew their captors to aid the mortal forces in their greatest time of need.
Halflings
The smallest of the civilized folk, halflings stand between 3 and 4 feet tall. Their small size is favorable in most conditions, but their limited body area reduces the capacity they can carry.
Fae-Cursed
Few are born Fae-Cursed, but anyone can become fae-cursed by preforming a perceived slight against a fae. Many are cursed a young age, after a grumpy fae curses a child after an innocent but harmful remark ("You look funny" angers some more than it should.) Those born fae-cursed are most often the curse of their parents. Some fae enjoy the long con and will curse the children of those they dislike rather than the parent. The fae-curse separates the person from magic, but is also a warning to any fae that this person isn’t to be trusted.
